On a bright and sunny Saturday morning, we went to San Diego's Old Town with David, Jessica, Devin, and Gabriella. This is the birthplace of the city of San Diego. The Spanish founded a settlement here in 1769 and it was then ceded to the United States in 1850. It was great fun watching the grandkids exploring everything with wide-eyed wonder. We had a wonderful time.
San Francisco is a great place for tourists because there is just so much to see. We had a fantastic time walking all over and exploring what the city had to offer (even though some of the hills were a "killer" to climb - we are still trying to catch our breath). From Chinatown, to Fisherman's Wharf, to Alcatraz island, to the Golden Gate Bridge, there was not much that we didn't visit. On the day we went to the Golden Gate Bridge, our walk totaled 16 miles round trip (as logged by the Dashboard Health app on our phone). |
